Fight of Characters (FoC) is a custom 4 vs 4 map for Warcraft 3 TFT game (PC). It's currently on its earlier development and still has many quirks.... :( But, as buggy as it is, this map possesses strong addicting scent. Once you like it, you can leave it. If you would like to download the map, download ALL version it has. Starting from 'E' 'F' and the latest is 'G' since ppl on the BNet are using those versions randomly, and don't stick with the latest version only.
The map size is pretty big (4 or so MB). It took me approx 20 minutes to fully download it, on my 128kbps connection.Tsk tsk... compared to DotA-Allstars, this one is far below in terms of efficiency.
if we're talking about playable map area... don't worry, it's not as big as DotA. DotA is using the biggest terrain preset whilst this FoC is using the completely opposite preset, smallest. Being small in terms of playable area means much much conflicts between players, and the revival timer isn't as long and boring as in DotA, making it very fun to play and hunt enemy heroes.
And oh, about the heroes you can play (damn I almost forget), in this map you choose among 20 or so anime characters. You can pick Inuyasha and pit it against Orochimaru. You can also cast Inuyasha's Kaze No Kizu and look at the spell's amazing animation -quite real, I admit-, and also characters' voices. Probably the map creator didn't make it (voice) himself but rather than picking up from the anime and put it here.
Unlike many other maps that don't allow you to 'duel', this map has this exciting feature. At given interval, a hero from each side are pit together on arena located on the upper map, battling hand to hand until one lose. The victor gains tremendeous amount of gold after his/her victory, so don't lose this duel! I found out some heroes are very strong when dueling (Orochimaru, Lee) one on one while some are very weak on dueling, it just isn't that hero's strong point (ex: Fourth Hokage). :P It's a matter of luck because the entries are chosen randomly.
Like DotA, you earn gold by killing heroes and creeps. Creeps are scattered all over the map, with sub-bosses located in the upper size (near duel arena), left and right side. The real boss sits on the left bottommos corner of the map. If you can kill him, you will win the match instantly.
The real indicator of victory is when your team reaches 100 kills. So don't sit around creeping too much while your teammates get decimated by the opposition. :P Use common sense, will ya?
That's all for now. I'll put review for Itachi soon. :P Well don't expect me to review Inuyasha soon, kay?
