Distress From Workplace.....

This happened on last Saturday.

Fist thing first, I was quite happy with the HmailServer setup I created, and usually when I feel certain about something, nothing bad will happen. And yes, nothing bad happened on my side that day...however, it was a bit...different. :( Be wary, this story is a mix between my work and my personal story, don't get confused.

Let's start from the beginning...

That morning, as usual, I checked all configurations and log entries on all of my servers on my workplace. No, there was no strange behavior or entries.... Besides, the day before Saturday is Friday that usually doesn't have too much activities inside outside my company. Heeee another relaxing day, I thought. My IPCOP box that usually gives me headache when it encounters weird problems, on that day was very quiet. 'Nice day' popped out on my head.

I ate a full meal at 9 AM, while nursing my little daughter simultaneously, because I had but little time to do that. She was pretty energetic and lively. :D Hm hm... While I was eating, one of my staffs contacted me that she already sent regular incoive report via telephone. Of course, she sent also that report to me via email (bcc, not cc... to avoid potential conflict) and to our lawyers that don't have email account on our domain. I opened Outlook and synchronize my inbox. Two emails were taken from server. I checked the senders and the subjects. The first was from my CEO, telling me that she basically still needs treatement from her latest illness, and the second, of course, from my employee.

'Done!'

And I continued my meal, and spoonfed my daughter again. I couldn't be happier, yes? After a busy week, I needed some respose as well to proceed to another busy week again. Few hours passed without any noticeable problems on my office.

Then, at 11 AM or so, the problem began. My employee who sent me report I told you before called me again via telephone. She said that our lawyers actually haven't received her emails, and complained to her. HA? 'It was impossible!' I said that to her. She asked my help to clarify and rectify the problem if needed.

I went to the email server and opened HmailServer interface. I clicked 'show log' button and opened the latest log in notepad. I sorted through all (stupid) entries, and found entry which recorded her email delivery activities. To my surprise, the log showed that her email was actually sent properly... How come that I could get her email whilst our lawyers couldn't? Blah...

I asked her to resend the email again and she did so. I checked the log again and it showed that her email should have been sent to our lawyers mailboxes properly. However, after a quick call to our lawyers, they confirmed that the emails hadn't reached their inbox.... I pinged their server to make sure their server DOES operate and run correctly. I even tried to remote their server to make sure everything's fine. Yes yes, their server ran correctly. Something must be wrong between my server and theirs, and that suspect is called 'internet'.

My quick analysis said that I need to test my server first. So I sent to yahoo and gmail domain. I did that and.... wtf? The emails I sent didn't get delivered to both yahoo and gmail. To be quite honest, I was very confident that my email servers didn't get misconfigured....because the day before, it delivered every emails to their destinations precisely. Suddenly I remembered that HmailServer was actually relay our emails again to our ISP's SMTP server. Having recalled that, I routed my email delivery path to our secondary SMTP server (another ISP's) and tried to resend email to both Yahoo and Gmail.

And voila! It's working! The test email I sent got delivered to both domain. Knowing that, I routed all emails sent from my servers to our secondary ISP's SMTP. I told my employee to resend her email again and made sure she confirmed to our lawyers that her mail actually got received by them. Few minutes passed, and she confirmed that the email she sent had arrived on our lawyers' mailboxes.

*phew*

With this case cleared, I've had abandoned my daughter for nearly 30 minutes.... lucky me she didn't cry. >_> Sorry, Novie...didn't mean to do that.....

Moral of the story: Always test all of your connections and don't put all of your hopes on one.

What Am I Doing This Week?

Hmmm..

I need to take care of my own life, apparently. I spent too much of my time in front of computer. You know, checking students' homeworks, replying emails, composing drafts for projects. Ha...

All in all, this is quite a good week. I didn't make any stupid mistake heheheh. And Idul Fitri is approaching fast, I need to make sure that THR (Incentives for staffs for Holiday) is paid properly and on time. If not, things will be problematic, I guarantee that. As a return, I don't give them too long holiday. Half day off on a day before the 1st Oct is quite generous. If anyone asks about extended holiday, I would give him/her formal warning without hestitation for my decision is final.

And for my family... my daughter is doing fine too, also my husband. In fact, no use in worrying the latter. >_>

What Am I Doing Today?

Clicking links...and nursing my daughter.

>_> I am pretty much lazy today, and don't want to think anything about my job. Hey, even me needs rest one time or another.

Story From HK!!! (Part 1)

-_- Well duh, sorry for the late story. I didn't have time to type all of this. So, without further ado, here's the story. This post is a subject to edit, hence you may get a notification on my blog if I do so. This is partial writing, though.

DAY 1
=====

At 8 AM, we went to Hongkong using Cathay Pacific Airlines, and duh... my fear of height got the better of me. I suffered for at least 5 hours consecutively because I couldn't stand being on that altitude. It was 11km far above the land...and sea! OMG, what a nerve... Bah, I can't tell you much on this because I don't want to leave bad memory on my blog. :( As simple as that.

We arrived at Hongkong at 2 PM of local time, safely -_-. The tour guide immediately took us to local shops at the center of the town. He gave us at least 2 hours to shop around, and told us to gather at the nearest bus station after the allocated time expires. No, I didn't buy anything, it's too expensive. Even chocolate pack costs you 40k rupiahs, quite expensive.

While we are here...

I have to admit, Hongkong is quite... beautiful. It's far above Jakarta, Indonesia Capital. The roads are properly placed, the environment is clean, the traffic isn't crowded.... All of which that cannot be achieved by Jakarta.

So let's continue.

We then proceeded to gather after the time quota has had expired. The bus then took us to the Avenue Of The Stars. This is a place where you can observe half of the hongkong clearly. From the top of the building, you can see Great Lake that has high buildings as its background. The Hongkong Government has built multiple laser beams, that will only be activated at 9 PM. The lasers show is really, really spectacular. I can't describe or depict that using words (see picture for reference), you need to see it yourself.

The tour for the first day ended here. After 10 PM, crowds dispersed. Our groups all returned to Grand Plaza Hotel, it's categorized as a 5 stars hotel. :D Nice tour agent, isn't it?

DAY 2
-----

We departed from hotel at 8 AM. And directly went to Jewelry Shop. And I got a very beautiful necklace from my trip to HK here. It's quite...expensive since I purchased it using HK Dollars, not Rupiahs. I bought Rat and Snake Necklaces, it's said that they bring a good luck to the wearers. I wear the Snake whereas my husband wears the Rat one.

My Chinese Zodiac isn't Snake, it's my husband's. However, since I'm married, I am not allowed to wear my own Zodiac, but my husband's Zodiac. Husband wears his wife's and wife wears her husband's. Quite strange, isn't it?

>_> Not that I believe a superstition here... but careful is better than sorry.

We spent 1 hour there, and moved quickly to Madam Tusseau.

Madam Tusseau is a museum where we can see a replica of celebrities, actors, superstars, etc. Not that interesting for me, but eh, there's one interesting object here on Tusseau. It is Ghost House. I of course wanted to give it a try, and look with my own eyes how scary Ghost House is.

I entered the entrance of the Ghost House, and the guard locked down the entrance quickly. >_> The inner room was indeed dark, sudden flashlight and lightning effect suddenly popped up here and there, added with eerie sounds as well. Just as I expected from a Ghost House. I said to myself, 'ah don't worry, let's get it straight and get the hell outta here.', but... maybe I was too overconfident. >.<>.<, and passed through the fourth door. The fourth door wasn't locked automatically, so I was a bit worried if the zombie was hunting me down because there would be no other escape route except proceeding and finishing the game. I just couldn't go back, since it wasn't allowed, and in no way I'd want to meet the zombie actor again. However, the intense pressure hasn't ended yet. After several steps, something awful burst out from wall and slammed wall forcefully, making me jumped to the right trying to avoid direct hit. It was another zombie actor, and it didn't intend to hit me, he was hitting the wall only, but I saw it as an attack. Lucky me there's a door nearby, AN EXIT!!! Before anything bad happened to my heart, I ran towards the exit at once... >_>

After I got out from that game, I already depleted all my courage and stamina... I had my husband hold my hands all the way. He laughed and said that it was the price I must pay for being so stubborn. Damn him.

And then, the next destination is Macau. But it was an optional tour, and I didn't want to do anything else due to my invalid condition. So my husband decided that we should rest at the hotel. The tour guide took the rest of us that didn't want to go to Macau to the hotel, and let us knew that there was no more agenda for that day. Phew...

I hit the bed immediately after I entered the hotel room.

Damn it...

Story From HK!!!

DAY 3
=====
Alrigthyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, this is what I had been waiting for. HONGKONG DISNEYLAND!

It was a fun trip. Tour Guide took us to Disneyland at 10 AM, after he had given away the tickets (free pass for two days ticket), he said that it's up to us about what we want to do on that Disneyland.

Here was all games I played that day:
-Space Mountain
-Buzz Lightyear
-Mickey 3D Magic's Show
-Sleeping Beauty Castle
-Spectacular Fireworks Show

Space Mountain is basically a roller coaster. However, a warning displayed there 'Expectant mother should not ride' means that the game is quite extreme, and shouldn't be taken lightly. I took a ride alone (again, I am so stubborn) and my husband carried our daughter and waited outside the venue entrance. And it was a horrible one, really. Very different from Ancol's Roller Coaster. >_> <_<>.<>_> <_< I wish I could see this event everyday...

And that's it, my holiday was finally came to an end. But I was very happy (except Madam Tussau part. Blah...

Your Future, Dillemma.

My brother wants to take his master degree major, but apparently confused about which major to take. I recommend him to take economy major, since his bachelor degree is also economy one. He's still considering it, though.

And my older sister now is considering whether she should have another child or not. xD

Moral of this story: Don't consider everything deeply, you will get confusion only.

The Time Draws Near...

Oh no... I am trembling with... a laughter! :D

No, I am not that nervous although the recent airplanes disasters are quite frightening. Also, one of my office mate traveled using airplane recently. Again, I'll go with my daughter and my hubby. :P

Just pray, hard.

28 July 2008

Hongkong, Here I Come!

I got a holiday present from my office, 2 tickets. I will go there on 10th next month, for 7 days, along with my husband and my daughter. :) Quite nice, isn't it?

I will post story later. I'm quite busy right now....

22 July 2008

Oh Wow, My Family Went Holiday Quite Far!

They went to Bali few days ago lol, and haven't returned till now. I guess they're too excited going away for vacation after years. Well, just bring some gifts for me and my daughter. :P

16 July 2008

This ain't going nowhere, dear.

And before you start complaining..... What would you expect from me, eh?

29 June 2008

My Family News.

My husband is still at Jakarta, he seems like his job very much. I don't blame him, he's looking after money to support us, me and his daughter. But whatever...

My daughter is fine, she's right here beside me laughing at my stupidity for working on a holiday. >.<

15 June 2008

A New Doll For Her.

Yeah, for my daughter. She seemed very happy when I gave her the doll. She's happy, me too. ^-^ This is my very first gift for her, even my husband hasn't given her any yet. Woooo....

Childbirth, the Beginning of a New Life.

Yeah, she was born 32 days ago. I never imagined that I _am_ able to bear a child someday. The feeling is just too great to be depicted here. It's not like winning a lottery but something more.... warm.

Anastasia Novie is her name. My husband gave her that name, hoping that she will become a great woman someday. And sure, I sincerely hope she will and for that, I will try my best to guide her until she's ready.

Up until now, I am still learning about how to be a good mother. Sadly, I am still not used to change her clothes, or calm her down on certain manner quickly... My friend told me that I am not supposed to learn this quickly, but I just have the feeling I need to do so as soon as possible. After all, this is my own daughter....
