Speed Up Your HDD Access Speed.

To do it, you need to adjust something on your configuration files. Here's how:

-> Start, Run-> type 'sysedit.exe' (without quote).
-> Go to 'System.ini' tab.
-> Add 'Irq14=4096' (without quote) exactly below '[386enh]' line

Restart your computer.

Do note that you need at least 256 MB RAM to feel any noticeable effect. Having less means absorbing your RAM resources in exchange for HDD access speed, and it's not good. Also, there's no need for you to experiment with '4096' setting up there. Believe me, there's no further effect even if you double that.

This trick can be used on any drives.
