NoScript Vs Entrecard's Javascript Widget: "And Not All Is Working Fine!"

'Just this morning I encountered something weird on EC widgets on all blogs. They were displayed but somehow, I couldn't click 'drop' to drop my card there. Even when I tried to drop, the widget didn't give me any reaction (usual reaction would be 'thanks').

There was no problem on dropping EC card last night, so something must have had triggered this. I checked my Firefox and found out that a new NoScript (1.8.4.1) had been installed on it. I was trying to figure out what's wrong but had no luck. I posted on Entrecard forum, and Turnip pointed out a hint on his blog.

I checked his thread and found interesting clue that might solve my problem. I tried to experiment on my NoScript configurations page, and finally found a solution for this mess. It seems that new feature called ClearClick on NoScript messed up Entrecard widget, and thus cross site script gets blocked by default. I had to reconfigure my NoScript again to make EC widget working properly.

The new settings are as follow:

1. Temporarily allow top level sites by default must be checked.

2. On Notification tab, uncheck ClearClick warning checkbox.

3. On Plugin tab, make sure you uncheck two check boxes for 'ClearClick protection on pages'.

4. Restart your Firefox.

And that's it! I managed to 'fix' my NoScript. :P Sometimes, you can't be too restrict. If you are, this is the result.....

Hi, I'm the author of NoScript.

Actually the only setting you needed to change was just the NoScript Options|Plugins|ClearClick protection on pages...[x] Trusted checkbox, because the Untrusted one has been enabled for a long time by default causing no problem.

Anyway I'm checking what's going on with EC and I hope to have a fix compatible with ClearClick protection on trusted sites in next update.

Thank you for noticing this issue. Next time could you please report on the NoScript forum thread as well, so I can react more promptly?

I could click yours without making any changes.

Will do, Giorgio.

Please check latest NoScript development build: it should work fine with EC even if you keep ClearClick active on trusted pages.
If it doesn't somewhere, please let me know here.
Thanks!
